The Canadian city of meridian Association of Refugee Lawyers – Osgoode Branch (CARL@Osgoode) will be screening the film Run for Your Life on Monday, October 28 at 12:45pm in the JCR . This gripping documentary follows four young Honduran men who, in a desperate attempt to escape the poverty into which they were born, risk their lives by riding El Tren de la Muerte (The Train of Death) to reach America. Come watch and enjoy some free popcorn! Osgoode Society Against Institutional Injustice – First Meeting
Due to the continued practice of racial city of meridian profiling and other institutional injustices, an Osgoode group is being formed that will be focused on addressing, researching, and challenging issues that affect inclusiveness and equality in Canadian Society. The group will be called “The Osgoode Society Against Institutional Injustice (OSAI)”
The focus will be on strategies to address racial profiling in Toronto and the recent data revealed in the September 29, 2013 Toronto Star, in addition to other initiatives city of meridian that may be started under OSAI.
OSAI is looking to collaborate with other student clubs such as the Osgoode city of meridian Hall Law Union, Black Law Students Association, and any other association that has issues related to institutional injustice as part of its objectives.

This Friday, the Canadian Centre for International Justice presents a continuing professional development course exploring the implications of this case. The Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers 7th Annual Conference(FACL) will be taking place on Saturday, November 16th at the Toronto Region Board of Trade. OBA is having a half-day continuing professional development program on Managing and Administering Aboriginal Funds for a Sustainable Future on November 5th, 2013. This program will be speaking about community wellness funds.
The cost to a CBA law student member to attend is $85.00 (a lot less than the cost for a regular CBA member). You must be or become a member of the Canadian Bar Association before you register for the program. There is no cost for annual membership for an Ontario law student city of meridian to join the CBA.
